Thank you! I won the Frome Town Council byelection for Frome College ward

by adamboyden on 19 December, 2013

Yesterday I won a seat on Frome Town Council in the byelection for College ward, caused by the resignation of another councillor.  I won 345 votes, 43%, and the turnout was 21%, quite good for a dark rainy day in December.

Please see here for the full results and here for the result in a pie chart.

Thank you to the residents of Frome College ward who voted in yesterday’s byelection, in sometimes appalling weather, or by post. It is so important to vote to help decide what your council does in future.

Thanks to the three other candidates, Tori Allison, David Taylor and Mike Rideout, for a good clean campaign, and thanks to the council staff running the election.

My special thanks to everyone in my campaign team, who were all brilliant, working hard together in this important election, and I mean everyone, including my agent Richard Pinnock and everyone else in the campaign committee, and the bigger team of many supportive local residents who delivered leaflets, hosted a board in front of their house, or supported in many other ways. It was a huge team effort and I thank everyone. I hope to get round to see everyone in the next few days.

So now I have more work to do, and will try and do my best for everyone who lives here, on Town Council as well as Mendip now.

Thank you,

Adam Boyden
