Running the Frome 10k – please help me help Make A Wish and Neuro Foundation

by adamboyden on 17 July, 2015

On Sunday I am going to run the Frome 10k, to raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation and the Neuro Foundation. Please can you consider sponsoring me, whatever the amount, at www.virginmoneygiving.com/AdamBoyden

50% of the money raised will go to Make A Wish Foundation UK –  http://www.make-a-wish.org.uk/

and 50% will go to the Neuro Foundation – http://www.nfauk.org/

This year I am trying to help support and grant magical wishes for children and young people with life-threatening conditions. I want to support local boy Dillon Chapman, 13, who after receiving a wish from Make A Wish a few years ago is encouraging others to raise money to grant wishes to others through Make A Wish, and has already helped raise over £75,000. Dillon has neurofibromatosis type 1, and his courage and determination is very inspiring. Dillon will also be starting the race off, and will also appear in a BBC documentary on July 27th, see http://www.fromestandard.co.uk/Dillon-Chapman-appear-BBC3-documentary/story-26900629-detail/story.html

This is part of the Frome Half Marathon/10k/5k/1k event – see here http://fromehalfmarathon.co.uk/. Do come along to cheer us on . Please note the road closure times in Stonebridge including Forest Road, Brunel Way and Berkley Road/Clink, and through town, and a map of these can be found here – http://fromehalfmarathon.co.uk/pages/route.html. Please get in touch with the organisers if you can help marshall the event, and please note that under 11s will be able to run in a 1k event this year.

I ran the 10k last year in a Superman costume for two charities, and I will be running in something similarly difficult again!
I will let you know how it goes on Sunday, through the next newsletter!
Thank you for your support.
