Mendip District Council has exchanged a conditional contract for the phased sale of the Saxonvale site to a developer – Acorn Property Group – to take forward the regeneration of the derelict town centre site.

I and other Lib Dems and other councillors welcomed the purchase by Mendip and called for a public consultation on the plans before a planning application is submitted, so this is good progress.
