There are quite a few local events being organised to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee, our Queen Elizabeth’s 70 years on the throne. Here are the ones I know about, so please take your pick and celebrate with family and friends and your local community:
Fromecommunity picnic at the Old Showfield’s new blossom circle in the back fields – Thursday 2nd June, 2-4pm
Beckington Jubilee Street Party, Goose Street, Beckington – Friday 3rd June from 1pm
Norton St Philip Platinum Jubilee Celebration, Church Mead, Norton St Philip – Friday 3rd June, from 2pm ’til late (1950s theme – “please dress up!”), with live music from 6pm
Rode Jubilee Parkfest, Rode Playing Field – Saturday 4th June, midday to 11pm, with live music from 6pm
Packsaddle Community Group Jubilee Lunch, Packsaddle play park in Pedlars Grove, Frome – Sunday 5th June from 1pm to 3pm
Frome Town Band, Victoria Park bandstand, Sunday 5th June at 3pm
Farley Close jubilee celebration on the green, Farley Close, Frome, with bouncy castle and music, bring your own picnic rug and afternoon tea – Sunday 5th June at 3pm
