Local jubilee celebrations

There are quite a few local events being organised to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee, our Queen Elizabeth’s 70 years on the throne. Here are the ones I know about, so please take your pick and celebrate with family and friends and your local community:

  • Frome community picnic at the Old Showfield’s new blossom circle in the back fields – Thursday 2nd June, 2-4pm
  • Frome Valentine Lamp lighting, Catherine Hill, Frome – Thursday 2nd June, 9.30-10pm
  • Beckington Jubilee Street Party, Goose Street, Beckington – Friday 3rd June from 1pm
  • Norton St Philip Platinum Jubilee Celebration, Church Mead, Norton St Philip – Friday 3rd June, from 2pm ’til late (1950s theme – “please dress up!”), with live music from 6pm
  • Rode Jubilee Parkfest, Rode Playing Field – Saturday 4th June, midday to 11pm, with live music from 6pm
  • Packsaddle Community Group Jubilee Lunch, Packsaddle play park in Pedlars Grove, Frome – Sunday 5th June from 1pm to 3pm
  • Frome Town Band, Victoria Park bandstand, Sunday 5th June at 3pm
  • Farley Close jubilee celebration on the green, Farley Close, Frome, with bouncy castle and music, bring your own picnic rug and afternoon tea – Sunday 5th June at 3pm

Please see below for details, and let me know (cllrboyden@gmail.com) if there are any more events you’d like me to add in here. Thanks,

Adam Boyden,
Somerset County Councillor for Frome North, Mendip District Councillor for Frome College ward
