Running the Frome 10k for Mercy in Action and Frome Rotary

Update: Thanks to everyone involved

I would like to thank the race director and the Superduperorganisers of and volunteers at last weekend’s Frome Half Marathon events for making it such a fantastic day for our town, and congratulate them all for a job well done.Running the 10k as Superman was absolutely fabulous and great fun.  Thanks must also go to the thousands of residents who came out to support and cheer all the runners on so wonderfully, you made it really special. (Thanks too to Peter the Mayor and others for all the water, it helped!). I am hoping to raise funds for Mercy In Action and Frome Rotary charities so if people would like to donate please go to www.mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/adamboydenfrome or /adamboydenfrome1.

Congratulations and well done to all the runners on Sunday, you were all superheroes. Events such as this make Frome what it is, which is a wonderful place to live.

I ran 10k in just over an hour. Photos of the finish are here (including photos 13-15 of me and my 2 yr old daughter crossing the line, to prove I did it!).

Fundraising

This year I am going to run the Frome 10k on Sunday 20th July.  It’s part of the 3rd Frome Half Marathon/10k/5k/1k event – see here – which hundreds of people are taking part in. I did the 5k last year and raised about £200 for Carers UK (and their East Somerset group) and Frome Rotary Club.

My chosen charities this year are the Rotary Club of Frome, and Mercy In Action – if anyone would like to sponsor me, whatever amount, please go to the following websites:

https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/adamboydenfrome (Mercy In Action)

or https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/adamboydenfrome1 (Frome Rotary Charitable Trust)

The Rotary Club of Frome work hard to raise funds for many charities and good causes locally, and are one of the event’s official charities, supporting the new Frome Activities and Sports Trust this year – see here.

Mercy In Action works with street children and the poorest of the poor in the Philippines, and their dream is to see an end to children living in squalor and hopelessness on the streets.

Thank you,

Adam Boyden
