Liberal Democrat candidate Anna Sabine has been elected as the Member of Parliament for Frome & East Somerset at the General Election on 4th July. Anna was elected with the following votes:

• Anna Sabine (Lib Dem) 16,580 (35.5%)
• Lucy Trimnell (Conservative) 11,165 (23.9%)
• David Swain (Reform) 6,441 (13.81%)
• Robin Moss (Labour) 6,416 (13.7%)
• Martin Dimery (Green) 5,083 (10.9%)
• Shaun Hughes (Independent) 737 (1.6%)
• Gavin Heathcote (Independent) 294 (0.6%)

Nationally of course, the Lib Dems had the best general election in 100 years, winning 72 seats across the UK and becoming the third party in the House of Commons once again. We have a new Labour Government after Labour won 412 seats, and Keir Starmer is our new Prime Minister.
