Free Loft and Cavity Wall Insulation in Mendip – Spread the Word !

by adamboyden on 31 August, 2012

“Mendip District Council, The Centre for Sustainable Energy and Scottish and Southern Energy have teamed up to offer loft and cavity wall insulation for FREE* for everyone in Mendip who owns or privately rents their property with the ‘Warm Streets Scheme’.

Following recent fuel price rises by the big six energy companies and with winter not far away there has never been a better time to take control of energy bills and make homes warmer.

The Warm Streets scheme gives the opportunity to really cut energy bills. Grants are available to install cavity wall and loft insulation for FREE* REGARDLESS OF INCOME, which could easily save £10 a month on heating bills.

Phillip Morris, Warm Streets project manager says “Insulating lofts and cavity walls is one of the best ways to keep warm this winter but it won’t be free for long, and when the subsidies stop it could cost hundreds of pounds.”

Andy Eisenhauer, Mendip Council’s Private Sector Housing EHO, explained “Loft and cavity wall insulation has been largely funded by energy companies for several years, but only about half of the homes that can benefit from this have done so to date. As a council we are aware that this funding will only be available for about two more months, so we have set up this special offer to ensure that as much of this funding goes to Mendip residents as possible”

As well as getting information on free* cavity wall and loft insulation, Warm Streets can help with other energy efficiency advice to help get to grips with energy saving.

Homeowners or private tenants can get in touch now to fight the bills and beat the chills!
