Showfield Community Garden notice8JuneA Community Garden at the old Showfield?
Please see below a message from Helen Johnstone of Frome Community Gardens about a new initiative for a ‘community garden’ at the old Showfield:
Plant a seed and share your views: The Frome Community Gardens Group is looking at putting a community garden on the old Showfield. This could have vegetable beds to rent, fruit trees and bushes, nut trees, bee and butterfly areas, and much more. Now is the time for people to get involved and say what they would like to see in a community garden here. Please visit the Frome Community Gardens gazebo on the Showfield next Saturday, 8th June, 10am – 2pm to find out more about community gardens and to tell us what you think. Children and adults will be able to make a newspaper pot, plant a seed and take it home with them. Please see www.fromepotatoday.org.uk/community-gardening-in-frome/ for more information.
You may also have ideas of your own, so please come along and tell us, or email helenjohnstone@yahoo.com.
Thanks, Helen Johnstone”
Showfield update:
I understand Frome Town Council officers are still working on a proposal for submission to Mendip District Council on how the Section 106 funds could be spent on a range of improvements, after the public consultation last autumn came up with a range of ideas.
